Emerging in Mindelo, under the name "Stronger Than a Mountain," in the context of the Crafts and Design Fair of Cape Verde - URDI 2017, it appropriates the photographic collection of the current National Center of Art, Craft, and Design, in a gesture of democratization of some of the images that shaped cultural resistance in post-independence Cape Verde.

This collection reveals and fixes in time a research project led by Manuel Figueira in the late 1970s, within the framework of the action of the Resistance Cooperative and later of the National Center of Craft. This project is the offspring of the struggling idea that there is no true National Independence without Cultural and Economic Independence, thus interrupting the anonymity with which colonialism attempted to bury Cape Verdean culture, and highlighting an indestructible resilience found in the cultural research to rescue local knowledge.

The rescued images, therefore, are witnesses and bearers of knowledge in a democratic gesture that prolongs the announced cultural resistance present in the collection - in a force that springs from within, deep within the land, its people, and their knowledge. It is this force, as powerful as the mountain, that determines the possibility of the coming Cape Verdean cultural future.

This exhibition was held at the Centro Cultural Sete Sois Sete Luas in 2018 and displayed with two new pieces at the Centro Nacional de Arte, Artesanato e Design in 2023.
