CARTAS
Letters is the ephemeral memory of a man and a woman, in the correspondence exchanged between them.
Departing in a simultaneous process of creation and memory, it starts from the letters that Amilcar Cabral and Maria Helena (his first wife) exchanged - inevitably fragmenting the space, the voice and the handwriting.
The collection that serves as the basis for this creation refers to the letters Maria Helena wrote to Amílcar Cabral between 1946 and 1960. Many of them were lost in the journeys, in the escape, in the struggle and forgetfulness. What appears on the stage are the gaps, the spaces between blur and sharpness, the movement of memory towards the body.
She writes to him: "I missed a letter. I missed you. I've ran out of pen ink and there's only this one."
